NHL 22: Release Date, Gameplay Trailer, Prices, Who Is On The Cover

The NHL 22 release date is left out with less than two months apart, and EA Sports dropped a lot of information regarding NHL 22, including a trailer. With the release of the game trailer, here’s everything we know about the NHL 22 release date and how long you can try the game yourself.

Electronic Arts Inc. delivers the superstar treatment to hockey fans everywhere with EA SPORTS™ NHL® 22, a next-generation hockey experience coming to PlayStation®5, consoles, and Xbox Series X|S, as well as Xbox One and PlayStation®4. It is powered by the Frostbite™ engine, arena, and every real-world player will have unrivaled visual features. At the same time, the addition of Superstar X-Factors will promote the league’s biggest stars with an all-new layer of class-based play.

Toronto Maple Leaf’s superstar center Auston Matthews, whose world-class skills represent what it is to have that Stupendousness performance on the ice, back to the EA SPORTS NHL cover in NHL 22 after 2020-21 season that held winning the Maurice “Rocket” Richard Trophy for most goals in the regular season.

We finally got confirmation! As the NHL season is scheduled to begin on October 12, 2021, the timeline is the same day, and the NHL 22 reserve experience will be released on the same day.

The official release date for NHL 22 is October 15, 2021. Although some other games follow the September release window, it looks like October will become the new normal for the EA Sports NHL series. There is concern that the ongoing global pandemic will continue to affect game development, but things seem to be going in the right direction.

If you can not wait till October 15, there is a way to reach your destination earlier if you pre-order the game. Although the standard version does not provide early access, anyone who pre-orders the NHL 22 XFactor version can get early access three days in advance. This means you will be able to start playing NHL 22 on October 12, 2021, the same day the NHL season begins.

Gameplay Trailer

The delay is over for the fans to see the power onto the virtual ice. Although we first caught a glimpse of it by revealing the trailer, this is the closest look we have seen so far. This is not only the first year to use the Frostbite engine but also the first time the NHL franchise is aimed at the next-generation platform in a long time. Here you can watch the official Gameplay Trailer right below!

NHL 22 Prices

Since NHL 21 is only released in the current version, this will be the first game in the series to jump to the next generation.

NHL 22 is set to be released on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One, and it looks like PC gamers will be out of this opportunity as no PC release was announced.

The Standard Edition is priced at $59.99 on Xbox One and PS4, while it is priced at $69.99 on Xbox Series X | S and PS5. Players can also pre-order the NHL 22 XFactor version for $99.99, which will include many rewards, including early access, various in-game prizes, and dual rights to current and next-generation games.

Who is on the cover of NHL 22?

After gracing the cover of NHL 20, Auston Matthews returns as the cover athlete for NHL 22. Because it’s the Internet, there were complaints about Matthews being on the cover again. There’s precedent for this, however. Alex Ovechkin has been a cover star more than once and even did so for both the EA NHL and defunct NHL2K series.
